In the somber and spooky crime that shook the Internet community, popular Jamaican TikTok content creator 1babaskenng died following a live stream shootout in Jamaica.
The fatal shooting took place outside of Queenie‘s Snack Shop on Red Hills Road in the St. Andrew parish of Jamaica.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that a black-clad masked shooter approached Johnson at point-blank range and started firing, striking him a number of times in the head and body. Johnson, the son of popular reggae performer Jah Mason, was conducting a live TikTok stream with another influencer at the time he was attacked.
The shooter reportedly shot additional rounds into Johnson‘s body before taking off. Fortunately, no other individual was injured in the process.
Johnson‘s murder is the fourth such death of a TikTok influencer in Jamaica within months, following Xavier Fogah, Marlon Samuels, and Keauno Watson—some of whom were attacked during live streams. The ghastly trend has led to mounting worries over the safety and vulnerability of content creators in the nation.
The police have launched a comprehensive investigation into the killing as Jamaica’s social media and entertainment community mourns the loss of yet another young online personality.
