The song is scheduled for release on Friday, October 10, aligning with global mental health advocacy efforts.

Breaking the Silence on Mental Health

Sandton City Mall announced the project in an Instagram post, stating:

“Breaking the silence, and raising our voices for mental health. Driven by your powerful messages of hope, we’ve been working in the studio on something truly meaningful something we believe has the power to change, and even save, lives.”

The collaboration features Riky Rick’s voice woven with heartfelt public submissions, turning personal affirmations into a shared anthem of strength.

A Legacy of Artivism

Founded after Riky Rick’s passing in February 2022, the Riky Rick Foundation uses “artivism”  the combination of art and activism to promote mental wellness and social awareness, particularly among South Africa’s youth.

Mental health continues to be a major challenge in the country, and the foundation aims to break stigma, foster creativity, and build safe spaces for young people to express themselves.

‘Words that Heal’ turns hope-filled messages into music to support mental wellness across South Africa.

To deepen engagement, the foundation and the mall launched the “Words that Heal” Tour, starting at Kingsmead College in Johannesburg. Here, students participated in open conversations about mental health pressures, the unrealistic expectations of perfection, and the importance of seeking help.

Omega Tv UK celebrates ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY, we wish to thank all our viewers for helping us reach this milestone.

Happy 1st anniversary to Omega TV UK!.

These discussions highlight how young South Africans are among those most affected by mental health issues, making initiatives like this especially timely.

Fashion Meets Healing

Beyond music and conversations, the campaign also features a “Words that Heal” experiential pop-up shop. The shop will offer limited-edition hoodies, t-shirts, and scarves designed by renowned artist Samurai Farai.

All proceeds from the pop-up will support the foundation’s programs that encourage creative expression and provide safe spaces for young people.

Where to Get Help

This campaign serves as a reminder that no one has to face mental health struggles alone. For immediate support in South Africa, individuals can contact the South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) at 0800 567 567.
