Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy remains the foreign leader most trusted by Poles, according to a recent survey by pollster CBOS, though his support has declined sharply since 2022.
The study found 49% of respondents expressed confidence in Zelenskyy, down from 86% in July 2022. Distrust in the Ukrainian president has risen to 28%, a 24-point increase over the same period.
French President Emmanuel Macron ranked second with 36% trust, followed by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at 31%. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also received 31% trust, though distrust rose from 20% in 2022 to 43%.
U.S. President Donald Trump ranked fifth, with only 25% trust and 56% distrust. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán followed in sixth place. At the bottom were Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin, each trusted by only 2% of respondents.
The survey, conducted between February 5–16 with 967 adults, highlights shifting attitudes toward global leaders among the Polish public.
