Donald Trump has issued a strong warning to Iran, saying the United States would become its “worst nightmare” if Tehran refuses to agree to a proposed peace plan. He also claimed that Iranian officials are “begging” for a deal, a statement Iran has denied.
The warning comes as tensions remain high following weeks of conflict in the Middle East. US special envoy Steve Witkoff confirmed that Washington has presented Iran with a 15-point peace proposal, though details of the plan have not been made public.
Iranian officials have responded by asserting what they describe as a “natural and legal right” to control the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil route. The situation has been further complicated by Israel’s announcement that it killed an ایرانی navy commander linked to the blockade of the strait.
The ongoing tensions are already affecting global markets. Analysts warn that disruptions in the region are pushing up oil prices, increasing costs, and adding pressure to inflation worldwide.
Meanwhile, attacks continue across Israel, Iran, and Lebanon. In the United Arab Emirates, two people were killed after debris from an intercepted missile — believed to have originated from Iran — fell in Abu Dhabi.
Despite the escalating rhetoric, questions remain over how the United States intends to bring Iran to the negotiating table and whether increased pressure will lead to a breakthrough.
