Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has called on Donald Trump to take decisive action to end the ongoing conflict involving Iran, as tensions in the Middle East continue to rise.
Speaking in Cairo alongside Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides, Sisi made a direct appeal, urging the U.S. leader to use his influence to bring the war to an end.
Call for Peace
Sisi framed his appeal as a humanitarian request, stressing the urgent need to stop the violence spreading across the region.
He expressed confidence in Trump’s ability to influence events, calling on him to act in the interest of peace and stability.
Diplomatic Efforts Continue
Egypt has been actively involved in diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the situation. The country recently joined other Muslim-majority nations in talks held in Pakistan aimed at finding a pathway toward peace.
Rising Tensions
The appeal came shortly before Trump issued fresh threats against Iran’s energy infrastructure, including key export hubs such as Kharg Island.
The conflict, now in its second month, has already had significant regional and global implications, particularly for energy markets and security.
Previous Appeals
This is not the first time Sisi has turned to Trump in times of regional crisis. He had previously urged him to help bring an end to the conflict in Gaza, highlighting his belief in Trump’s ability to broker peace.
As tensions continue to escalate, calls for diplomatic intervention are growing louder across the region.
