Siya Kolisi marks six years of Kolisi Foundation with emotional message

Siya Kolisi has shared an emotional message marking the sixth anniversary of the Kolisi Foundation, reflecting on its impact and reaffirming its long-term mission to support vulnerable communities.

Posting on Instagram, the Springboks captain described the milestone as both a moment of gratitude and renewed commitment. He wrote: “Today marks the sixth birthday of the Kolisi Foundation. We are still here, we won’t stop, and there is a lot of work to be done. We will continue going forward.”

The foundation, co-founded by Siya Kolisi and his former wife Rachel Kolisi, focuses on key social pillars including education, sport development, food security, and addressing gender-based violence. Its programmes aim to provide support and opportunity to under-resourced communities across South Africa.

Kolisi also paid tribute to the organisation’s partners, staff, and board members, thanking them for their continued work on the ground. He highlighted the collective effort behind the foundation’s growth since its launch in 2020.

Over the past six years, the organisation has reached thousands of beneficiaries through targeted initiatives, particularly in communities such as Zwide in Gqeberha. These include food relief programmes, youth development projects, and educational support aimed at breaking cycles of poverty.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the foundation expanded its work significantly, delivering emergency food aid and support to vulnerable households at a time of heightened need. It has also supported long-term development through school infrastructure projects and sport-based youth empowerment initiatives.

In addition, the Kolisi Foundation has been involved in programmes addressing gender-based violence, including awareness campaigns, partnerships with shelters, and survivor support services designed to strengthen community response systems.

The anniversary comes during a period of transition for the organisation. In 2025, Rachel Kolisi stepped down from her role as CEO following her separation from Siya Kolisi, marking a leadership change within the foundation.

Despite the personal and organisational shifts, the foundation continues its operations with a focus on sustaining and expanding its community impact.

Kolisi’s message reflects both pride in what has been achieved and determination to continue the foundation’s work into its next chapter.
