Murder Arrest Made After Fatal Stabbing of Student at Primrose Hill
A murder investigation is underway in Primrose Hill following the fatal stabbing of 21-year-old filmmaking student Finbar Sullivan earlier this week.
Police were called to reports of a violent altercation at the popular north London location shortly after 6:30pm on Tuesday. Upon arrival, officers discovered Sullivan with critical injuries. Despite emergency response efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that a 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. A second suspect, aged 25, has also been detained on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both individuals were taken into custody on Friday and remain there as investigations continue.
Authorities revealed that another man, believed to be in his 20s, was found nearby on Regent’s Park Road with stab injuries. He was transported to hospital, where medical staff confirmed that his injuries were not life-threatening.
Detective Inspector Andy Griffin, who is leading the investigation, expressed condolences to the victim’s family, describing the situation as “unimaginably difficult.” He assured the public that specialist officers are providing ongoing support to Sullivan’s loved ones during this time.
Police have intensified their presence in the Primrose Hill area and surrounding neighborhoods as part of efforts to reassure residents and gather further information. Investigators are actively appealing to members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or captured footage on mobile devices to come forward.
“This remains an active investigation,” DI Griffin stated, adding that officers are working around the clock to identify everyone involved in the attack.
Primrose Hill, known for its scenic views and usually peaceful environment, has been shaken by the incident, raising fresh concerns about public safety in London’s open spaces.
