In the recent interview held on the podcast show ‘We Need To Talk’, Akon said he felt humble collaborating with the music legend, who was also one of his childhood idols.

“My picture with Michael Jackson is my proudest photo. I was already a famous person back then but a child when I compare myself to this gentleman,” he said.

The Oh Africa songmaker said meeting and working with Michael Jackson was a life-changing experience as he had been an ardent fan of him all his life.

During the interview session, the singer revealed how dedicated he had always been to promoting music from Africa, especially Afrobeats artists like Wizkid and P-Square. However, the singer denied being Wizkid’s executive label manager saying he knew the singer through Banky W’s Empire Mates Entertainment.

“Nigerians are the smartest people in the world and they have done extremely well with Afrobeats,” he concluded.
