South African television presenter and entrepreneur Maps Maponyane has officially begun construction and renovations on his long-awaited dream home, sharing the exciting milestone with fans on social media.

The media personality took to Instagram to announce the project, revealing that he had intentionally kept the plans private until now.

“With the spirit of the breaking ground ceremony, a new step forward commences… I’m grateful for this new beginning,” he wrote.

Inspired by Japanese culture and architecture

Maponyane revealed that the design of the home is heavily inspired by his love for Japanese culture, architecture and attention to detail.

“So I’ve been pretty tight-lipped about this, and now I’m finally ready to share that I’m working on the construction and renovation of my dream home project,” he said.

“I’m obsessed with Japanese culture, and I love the way they think about architecture, design and their attention to detail. This is the project of creating my Japanese oasis.”

The project aims to transform the property into a serene sanctuary that reflects Japanese-inspired living and design principles.

A glimpse of the future oasis

The video shared by Maponyane gives fans a look at the property before the renovations begin.

The home is surrounded by lush greenery and mature gardens and already features several elements commonly associated with Japanese-inspired spaces, including wooden doors and frames, a tranquil pond and a swimming pool.
