Thousands of World Cup Tickets Remain Unsold Ahead of England vs France Bronze Medal Match

High ticket prices leave thousands of seats available as fans prepare for tournament finale

Thousands of tickets remain available for the World Cup bronze medal match between England and France, with around 7,000 seats still listed on official FIFA ticket platforms ahead of Saturday’s clash in Miami.

The match, which kicks off at 22:00 BST, has not yet reached a full sell-out, with more than 1,200 tickets still available through general sale as of Friday morning.

Official ticket listings showed seats priced between $865 (£657) and $1,125 (£855), while thousands more tickets remain available through FIFA’s official resale platform.

The resale market currently has approximately 5,864 tickets listed, including category three seats available at their original value of $455 (£346), plus FIFA’s additional 15% service fee.

However, some tickets in the more expensive categories have been listed for significantly less than their original purchase prices, suggesting some supporters are struggling to find buyers.

One category one ticket that originally cost $1,125 (£855) was being resold for $659 (£500), representing a major discount for fans looking to attend the match.

The availability of tickets comes despite the global attention surrounding the tournament and England’s campaign, with supporters expected to travel to Miami for the final appearance of both teams.

Meanwhile, Sunday’s World Cup final has also not completely sold out, although far fewer tickets remain available.

Thirty-two of the most expensive standard tickets are still being offered through FIFA’s official sales platform, with prices ranging from $29,995 (£22,796) to $32,970 (£25,057).

More than 1,000 additional tickets are also available on the official resale market, with several listed close to their original face value.

The original price of some final tickets was $7,380 (£5,609), meaning buyers would pay an additional $1,107 (£841) FIFA service fee if purchasing through resale.

One of the most expensive resale listings for the World Cup final has reached an extraordinary $2 million (£1.52 million), excluding a further FIFA fee of $300,000 (£228,000).

However, resale prices are determined by individual sellers and do not necessarily represent the actual prices fans are willing to pay.

The situation highlights the challenges facing major sporting events where ticket demand and pricing can fluctuate significantly. While some matches sell out quickly, high ticket costs can leave seats available even for globally important fixtures.

For England supporters, the bronze medal match against France will provide one final opportunity to watch their team compete on the world stage, while organisers will hope more fans take up the remaining tickets before kick-off.
