Nigerian singer and songwriter Peter Okoye, who used to be half of the music group P-Square, which’s no longer active has told a powerful story about a big moment in his personal life. He says that when his then-girlfriend Lola Omotayo told him she was pregnant it caused problems inside his family and his music group.
In a video he shared on his Instagram page Peter got very emotional as he talked about what happened when he was 27 years old. He said he decided to tell everyone about the pregnancy himself so that the news would not come out in a way or from other people.
Peter said he told everyone about the news while he was receiving an award at the Sound City Awards. He gave the award to God, his fans, his supporters and “the mother of my child.”
He said that right after he made the announcement, his brother and former manager, Jude Okoye and his twin brother, Paul Okoye were very upset. They were worried that this news could hurt the groups career.
Peter said they asked Lola to end the pregnancy. He also said that someone made an email to make it look like the baby was not his. He accused her of using the pregnancy to control him.
The singer shared all of this while thinking about one of the times in his life. At the time this was written Jude Okoye and Paul Okoye had not said anything in response, to what Peter said.
