Tyla to receive International Achievement Award at SAMA32
Two-time Grammy Award-winning South African singer Tyla is set to receive the International Achievement Award at the 32nd South African Music Awards (SAMA32) in recognition of her growing global impact.
Tyla set for another major honour
Tyla will receive the prestigious award during SAMA32 at the Sun City Superbowl on August 15. The recognition comes as the singer continues to make waves internationally with her music and performances.
Second SAMA International Achievement Award
The honour will be Tyla’s second International Achievement Award after she previously received it at SAMA30. She will become only the second artist to win the award twice, following internationally acclaimed South African DJ and producer Black Coffee.
AfriPure backs Tyla’s recognition
South African beauty brand AfriPure is sponsoring the International Achievement Award as part of Tyla’s homecoming. AfriPure co-founder Grant Heynes said the partnership reflects the brand’s belief in creativity, confidence and the global ambitions of South African artists.
Celebrating South African influence
Organisers say Tyla’s continued international success highlights the growing influence of South African music and culture around the world. Her recognition at SAMA32 is also expected to celebrate the local roots that helped shape her career.
SAMA32 brings spotlight to North West
The awards ceremony is backed by several organisations, including the Motsepe Foundation, North West government departments, SA Tourism and the SABC. Organisers say the event has grown beyond a music awards ceremony into a platform for promoting tourism, business and the province’s creative industries.
A homecoming for Tyla
SAMA32 will bring together established musicians, emerging artists, industry professionals and fans while creating opportunities for creatives and local businesses. For Tyla, the ceremony will also serve as a special homecoming as she is honoured in the country where her musical journey began.
