The International Organization for Migration said at least 76,000 people have fled their homes since July, with many seeking shelter in Aden. Residents described chaotic escapes from Mokha, where roads became congested as fighting intensified.

The Houthis captured the strategic Red Sea port of Mokha and the nearby Mayun, also known as Perim, island, extending their presence toward the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, one of the world’s most important shipping routes.

Meanwhile, about 1,400 Yemenis reportedly crossed into Djibouti within 24 hours as violence intensified. Aid officials said women and children were among those arriving on Djibouti’s shores, with more people expected to follow.
