Dru Hill and Silk to headline R&B concert in Pretoria

American R&B groups Dru Hill and Silk will bring their classic sounds to Pretoria in 2027, with the multi-platinum-selling acts confirmed for the inaugural We Love R&B Concert Experience. The concert will take place at SunBet Arena at Time Square in Menlyn on Sunday, 22 May 2027.

Dru Hill brings classic hits

Dru Hill will perform some of the songs that established the group as one of the prominent R&B acts of the 1990s and early 2000s. Fans can expect favourites including In My Bed, Never Make a Promise, How Deep Is Your Love, Beauty and These Are the Times.

Silk joins the line-up

Silk will join Dru Hill for the one-night event, bringing its smooth vocal harmonies and well-known catalogue to the Pretoria stage. The group is expected to perform popular tracks including Freak Me, If You and Meeting in My Bedroom.

Concert celebrates R&B nostalgia

The event is being positioned as a celebration of the music and voices that shaped generations of R&B listeners. Organisers say the concert will give South African fans an opportunity to experience two internationally recognised groups on the same stage.

Remoakantse Holdings has confirmed that another major international R&B name will be added to the line-up. The identity of the act is being kept secret for now, with organisers saying the announcement will come at a later date.

Remoakantse Holdings managing director Thabiso Mogashwa said the organisers were excited about bringing Dru Hill and Silk to Pretoria and described their catalogues as music that has remained important to South African R&B fans.

Line-up deliberately kept under wraps

Mogashwa said the decision to withhold the third international act was deliberate, with organisers wanting to build anticipation before revealing the artist. The additional act will join Dru Hill and Silk for the inaugural concert.

Tickets announced for October

Tickets are scheduled to go on sale on 28 October 2026 through Webtickets and Pick n Pay outlets nationwide, according to event information reported by The Citizen.
