Dzokoto reportedly passed away on Thursday, 22 October 2026, following his collapse during a radio programme at Owass Radio in the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality of Ghana’s Western Region.

He was rushed to a hospital in Tarkwa, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, according to a source within the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the political party he belonged to.

The causes of his collapse are not fully disclosed.

Dzokoto had built a career spanning television, radio broadcasting, comedy, presenting and voice-over work, which earned him a reputation in Ghana’s entertainment scene.

A household name through Efiewura

Dzokoto became well-known in Ghana for his role as Judge Koboo in Efiewura, one of the country’s popular local television productions.

His work in the role saw him become a memorable figure on television with the production, which has since acquired a following across the country.

In addition to acting, he demonstrated his versatility as a presenter on TV3’s food and tourism programme Edziban.

The programme explored Ghanaian cuisine and local food culture, showcasing different meals and culinary experiences. His work on the show saw his reach extend beyond comedy and scripted television.

Dzokoto also worked in advertising voice-overs, using his voice across different media formats.

Broadcasting career

His radio career included work with Skyy Power FM in Takoradi and Hello FM in Kumasi.

Through broadcasting, acting and presenting, he built a media career that saw him connect with audiences across television and radio.

Political involvement

Outside entertainment, Dzokoto ventured out into partisan politics with the NDC.

He vied for the Tarkwa-Nsuaem parliamentary seat in the 2016 general election but fell short of securing the constituency’s parliamentary seat.

His political involvement was one of the ways his career was further shaped by moving beyond entertainment into public affairs.

Dzokoto’s reported death means the country will lose a familiar face in television and broadcasting for those who knew him through Efiewura and his other media work.
