Ghana’s Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta Declared Wanted Again
Accra, Ghana – In a shocking development, Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta, Ghana’s former Finance Minister, has been declared wanted by the country’s Special Prosecutor’s Office over corruption charges. This is not the first time Ken Ofori-Atta has faced such a declaration, as he was previously added to the wanted list in February 2025 for financial misconduct charges, only to be removed after pledging to return voluntarily.

According to sources, the current declaration is related to his alleged involvement in several corruption cases during his tenure as Finance Minister. Ofori-Atta served in this position from January 2017 to February 2024 under President Nana Akufo-Addo, his paternal cousin.
During his time as Finance Minister, Ofori-Atta faced criticism for his handling of the country’s economic woes, which ultimately led to his replacement in a cabinet reshuffle. The allegations of corruption and financial misconduct have been ongoing, and the Special Prosecutor’s Office has deemed it necessary to declare him wanted once again.
The development has sent shockwaves through Ghana’s political landscape, with many calling for accountability and transparency in government. As the investigation continues, it remains to be seen how Ofori-Atta will respond to these latest allegations.
