According to reports, Hilda Baci’s record-breaking attempt involved cooking 250 bags of rice, approximately 5,278 kilograms, to feed thousands of attendees. The jollof rice was prepared in a custom-made pot measuring six meters wide and 1.3 meters deep. The cooking process took over 12 hours to complete.
Gino, a prominent food brand, partnered with Hilda Baci for this attempt, providing significant support. The partnership highlights the growing interest in culinary records and the celebration of African cuisine.
Many attendees expressed their delight and admiration for Hilda Baci’s culinary skills, with some noting that they were tasting her food for the first time. This is likely due to the high prices of her dishes in her restaurant, where a plate of jollof rice costs 200,000 naira.
