Twenty juvenile inmates housed at Ngaragba Central Prison in Bangui, Central African Republic, have taken a significant step toward rehabilitation by completing a specialized motorcycle mechanics training program. The initiative, made possible through a partnership between the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) and the Central African Directorate of Prison Services, marks a critical investment in youth rehabilitation and vocational empowerment.

National Strategy for Social Reintegration
This vocational training forms part of the broader National Strategy for Social Reintegration, a government-led approach that seeks to equip incarcerated individuals with skills that will enable them to rebuild their lives upon release. The training culminated in a certificate presentation ceremony held on August 2, attended by MINUSCA officials and members of the prison administration. Now I have the skill to support myself,” shared one inmate, expressing optimism for the future.
