In preparation for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, Morocco has unveiled an ambitious $4.2 billion plan to modernize and expand its airport infrastructure. The country, set to co-host the global event alongside Portugal and Spain, is making strategic investments to meet rising travel demands.

Doubling Passenger Capacity by 2030

A key component of the project is increasing the nation’s annual airport capacity from 38 million to 80 million passengers by the end of the decade. Authorities view this expansion as essential to accommodate the expected surge in visitors for the World Cup and beyond.

Upgrades to Key City Airports

The modernization plan focuses on airports in several major Moroccan cities—Marrakech, Agadir, Tangier, and Fez. These regional hubs will undergo upgrades in both capacity and infrastructure, ensuring they meet international standards and provide a seamless travel experience.
