Arinze’s comments follow a controversy surrounding a Nigerian man who claimed to be the “Igbo King” in Ghana. The actor described this act as an affront to Ghanaian culture and traditional authority, stressing that anyone desiring to be an Igwe should return home to Nigeria and follow proper traditional processes.
The Ga Traditional Council has denounced the self-acclaimed Igbo King, stating that he is not recognized in the National Register of Chiefs and has no authority to operate as a king in Ghana. The council ordered him to cease all activities under the title “Igbo King in Ghana”.
