Veteran actor Tom Njemanze passes away at 75 after battle with prostate cancer
The Nollywood film industry is mourning the loss of one of its beloved veterans, Tom Njemanze, who passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2024, at the age of 75 after a prolonged battle with prostate cancer. The news of his demise was announced by popular Nollywood producer, Stanley Ontop, via an emotional Instagram post.
According to Stanley, despite efforts to save the veteran actor, his condition proved futile, and he succumbed to his ailment. “It’s another sad period as we just received news from Tom Njemanze’s family that he has passed on,” Stanley wrote. “May his soul RIP. It’s well. We tried to save him, but GOD knows best. Nollywood lost another legend.”
Tom Njemanze, who began his acting career in the 1990s, was known for his standout performances in several films, including ‘Tokunboh’, ‘Pounds And Dollars’, ‘Atosa’, ‘Issakaba‘, ‘Osuofia In London’, ‘Brain Box’, and ‘Igbotic Love’. His talent, voice, and presence will be deeply missed across the movie industry.
