Kanye West Brings Show to South Africa

South Africans erupted with excitement over the weekend as Kanye West, also known as Ye, announced an exclusive one-day concert in Johannesburg.

The rapper revealed the news with a flyer posted on X (formerly Twitter), confirming that the show will take place at Ellis Park Stadium on Saturday, December 13. It will be his only South African stop on this visit.

Organisers Call It More Than a Concert

The event is being organised by the Monyake Group, a local live-entertainment company.

Managing director Samuel Monyake said booking Ye was both an artistic and spiritual decision:

“Ye’s unyielding determination and persistent religious quest speak to our Christocentric background. His vast catalogue and appeal are perfectly aligned with our mission to create culturally relevant and spiritually healthy stadium experiences.”

Monyake explained that this concert is part of a five-year plan to make South Africa a regular stop for global superstars, while also showcasing African creativity on the world stage.

Local Artists to Share the Stage

While the full supporting line-up has not yet been revealed, organisers promised that South African performers will join Ye at the stadium.

“We are committed to showcasing the best of local talent… fans will be treated to a specially curated line-up that honours the very best of our music industry,” Monyake said.

Ticket Safety Warning

Tickets will be released soon, and organisers warned fans to be cautious.

“Only purchase tickets from the official and authorised partner. Avoid third-party resellers and individuals on social media, as these are common sources of counterfeit tickets,” Monyake advised.
