Accra, Ghana – Accra Hearts of Oak has officially announced the formation of a Recruitment Committee to oversee the club’s squad restructuring in preparation for the 2025/26 football season.

In a statement released on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, the club noted that the committee will be composed of representatives from the board, management, and technical team. While specific names were not disclosed, the Phobians emphasized that the committee has already begun a comprehensive evaluation process.

“The committee is assessing current performances and identifying potential recruits in line with technical direction,” the club stated.

Data-Driven Rebuild Underway

“Some players who do not make the cut will be released,” the statement added, hinting at significant changes to the squad.

Upcoming Challenge: President’s Cup

As part of its pre-season engagements, Hearts of Oak will face rivals Asante Kotoko on July 6, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium in the President’s Cup, an annual fixture that doubles as a ceremonial season opener.

The club finished fourth in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League and exited the MTN FA Cup at the Round of 16, closing the season without a major trophy. The new recruitment strategy signals the club’s intent to return to title contention in the upcoming season.
