Omah Lay, whose real name is Omah Stanley Didia has shared how much influence his personality has on the way that he interacts with people professionally, particularly in the music industry.
During an episode of the Nando Leaks podcast, Omah Lay described himself as being a little different, “Weird,” which caused his desire to have a relatively small group of friends. He stated that he prefers to have relationships with people who understand where he wants to be and how he views himself.
“I don’t have a very large group of friends. I keep my circle small and only around the people who try to understand me and where I want to go,” he stated. He went on to explain how he feels that ego plays a major role in how he is perceived, and how difficult it is for him to interact with others in the music industry.
He feels that even though he is a laid-back type of person, he does tend to let his ego control his ability to form friendships. “The Nigerian music industry is filled with so many egos. I am very laid back, but I also have a very big ego. My ego makes it hard for me to develop friendships with others,” he added.
Omah Lay also stated that he is satisfied with the quality of the few friends that he now has, and he believes more in the quality of a friendship versus the quantity.
