Nigeria President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received his Certificate of Return after winning the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primaries held across the country.
The certificate was presented on Sunday at the International Conference Centre in Abuja by APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda.
Tinubu’s victory followed his overwhelming win against his only challenger, Stanley Osifo, who polled 16,503 votes. Tinubu secured a total of 10,999,162 votes, according to the APC Presidential Primaries Election Committee chaired by Pius Anyim.
The primaries were conducted across 8,809 wards in Nigeria’s 774 local government areas, with governors serving as collation officers in several states.
Across the country, Tinubu recorded sweeping victories in multiple states, including Rivers, Bayelsa, Edo, Abia, Delta, Kogi, Gombe, Zamfara, Osun, Ebonyi, Kwara, Kaduna, and Sokoto, often securing near-total support from party delegates.
In several states, Osifo failed to secure any votes, while Tinubu dominated with large margins.
The APC declared the exercise peaceful and transparent, officially confirming Tinubu as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.
