FIFA announced the collaboration on its X account, confirming that the trio will also perform the song during the tournament’s opening ceremony in Los Angeles, United States.

According to FIFA, the anthem combines Afrobeats, K-pop and Latin pop influences to capture the global spirit and diversity of the World Cup. The song focuses on themes of ambition, confidence, victory and celebration, using football as a symbol for pursuing dreams and overcoming challenges.

Since its release, “Goals” has generated major international attention, boosted by fan-led streaming campaigns across several countries.

The song quickly gained traction on Spotify playlists including “New Music Friday Afrobeats” and “Hot Hits Nigeria,” while also becoming one of the most searched new songs on Shazam.

Its official music video, released on FIFA’s YouTube channel, surpassed three million views within 24 hours.

Rema’s involvement makes him the third Nigerian artiste to feature on an official FIFA World Cup song after Davido and Burna Boy.
