Former Miss South Africa and Miss Supranational winner Lalela Mswane is preparing to swap pageant crowns for survival challenges as she gears up for the upcoming season of “Tropika Island of Treasure.”
The beauty queen will be among the celebrities competing on Reunion Island in season 12 of the popular reality competition show, where contestants face demanding physical challenges, strategic gameplay and intense social dynamics.
Mswane says the competition has pushed her to focus on mental strength, discipline and consistency in a completely different way from her pageant experiences.
According to the former Miss South Africa, she has been following a strict fitness routine that includes gym sessions five mornings a week with a focus on cardio, strength training and endurance. Ballet and Pilates also form part of her preparation to improve flexibility, balance and mental wellness.
When it comes to diet, Mswane revealed that she has maintained a healthy and balanced lifestyle without making drastic changes ahead of the competition.
Despite competing on major international stages before, she believes authenticity will remain her biggest advantage throughout the reality series.
Mswane explained that staying mentally grounded, protecting her peace and maintaining healthy routines have been key parts of her preparation process as she gets ready for life on the island.
The former pageant queen also admitted that while the physical challenges will test contestants, she is especially interested in navigating the social and strategic aspects of the game.
She described determination and grit as her greatest strengths, saying she remains focused on achieving her goals regardless of obstacles.
Away from the competition itself, Mswane says she is excited to experience the beauty, culture and adventure of Reunion Island during filming.
“Tropika Island of Treasure” season 12 is expected to premiere on S3 later this year.
