The actor, who is based in Los Angeles, California, shared the news on Instagram, describing the experience as one of the most challenging periods of his life both physically and mentally. He revealed that the training required weeks of intense drills, strict discipline and no communication with the outside world.

Momodu said there were moments of doubt during the programme, but he remained focused on completing the journey. He also noted that the experience tested his resilience, endurance and commitment to discipline, ultimately transforming him from a civilian into a soldier.

According to him, his decision to join the US Army was partly inspired by his late father, who previously served in the Nigerian Police Force. He described his enlistment as a continuation of his father’s legacy of service.

He has now been designated as Specialist (SPC) J.A. Momodu, serving with the 1st Platoon, Charlie Company, 3-10, 3rd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri.

Momodu dedicated the achievement to his late father, the Royal Family of Oba Momodu II of the Avyuele Clan in Edo State, as well as supporters and colleagues who encouraged him throughout the process.

His announcement has sparked widespread reactions online, with fans and fellow entertainers congratulating him, including several Nollywood colleagues who praised his determination and career shift
