Music, comedy and culture take centre stage as Mzansi stars headline major weekend events

Johannesburg is set for a weekend filled with live entertainment as some of South Africa’s biggest music and comedy names prepare to perform at events celebrating local culture, creativity and entertainment.

From soulful performances and alternative rock to stand-up comedy, residents and visitors will have several options to enjoy Mzansi’s vibrant entertainment scene.

Thandiswa Mazwai leads star-studded Soirée line-up

The Soirée: Courtside Couture will bring together some of South Africa’s most celebrated artists for a day of music, food and culture.

Leading the line-up is award-winning singer and songwriter Thandiswa Mazwai, the former Bongo Maffin vocalist known for blending African rhythms with contemporary sounds.

She will share the stage with amapiano star Sha Sha, MTV Africa Music Award winner Shekhinah, and SAMA Award-winning musician Bongeziwe Mabandla.

The event will also feature a selection of food and beverages, creating a full cultural experience for attendees.

That Winter Fest brings rock energy to Joburg

Alternative music fans are also in for a treat as That Winter Fest returns with a powerful line-up celebrating Johannesburg’s rock and alternative music scene.

The festival will feature performances from legendary South African band Desmond and the Tutus, alongside The Tazers, Black Math, Ruff Majik, Worms, Crunchy Sweater and other local acts.

Organisers promise a high-energy experience featuring two stages, impressive production and visuals designed to showcase some of the country’s best alternative talent.

Skhumba promises weekend of comedy

Comedy lovers will get their share of entertainment as popular comedian Skhumbuzo “Skhumba” Hlophe hosts his weekend comedy special.

The show will feature his trademark storytelling style, offering audiences a chance to unwind and enjoy live stand-up comedy.
