Singer withdraws from London musical amid ongoing public scrutiny
Ariana Grande has announced she will take a break from public appearances after completing her Eternal Sunshine tour next month, citing the “endless” public scrutiny surrounding her life and appearance.
A representative for the 33-year-old singer told People magazine that Grande will be “taking a step back from visibility” after wrapping up the tour, adding that she is looking forward to ending it “healthily and happily.”

As part of her decision, Grande has also pulled out of the 2027 London revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George.
The production company behind the musical said it fully supports her decision and understands that it could not have been an easy one.
The show will still go ahead at London’s Barbican Theatre, starring Jonathan Bailey and directed by Marianne Elliott.
Scrutiny over health and appearance
Grande has faced intense public speculation about her health and physical appearance in recent years, with discussions intensifying following the release of her latest album, Petal.
Its music video explores themes of criticism and unrealistic beauty standards, portraying a performer constantly judged over her appearance before confronting her critics.
Her representative stressed that Grande performs demanding live shows while maintaining her health and wellbeing throughout the tour.

Grande’s Eternal Sunshine tour continues in Chicago before heading to London’s O2 Arena, where it will conclude on September 1.
The Barbican said it hopes to welcome Grande in the future when the time is right, while further casting announcements for the production will be made at a later date.
