The singer, songwriter, actor and designer has been named the second honouree in the collection, which celebrates influential men who have made significant contributions to music, entertainment, fashion, sport and wider culture. The release also comes as Ken marks his 65th anniversary.

Mattel’s collectible doll is inspired by one of Kravitz’s signature looks from his “Blue Electric Light” tour. It features a bronze-coloured mesh cowl-neck tank, boot-leg denim jeans, a studded belt, boots and sunglasses. The doll is also designed with Kravitz’s trademark locs, tattoos and nose ring, along with a face sculpt based on his likeness.

For Kravitz, the honour represents an unexpected full-circle moment.

“Barbie is an institution, and as a kid growing up, I could not have imagined this,” he said. “To be chosen by Mattel as a Kenbassador, only the second one in history, is an honour and absolutely surreal.”

Kravitz follows basketball star LeBron James, who became the first person to be recognised through the Kenbassadors collection when it launched in 2025.

The collection was created to celebrate men whose work and influence have helped shape popular culture. Mattel describes Kravitz as a multi-disciplinary artist whose career has combined music, fashion, art and individuality.

With more than 50 million records sold worldwide, Kravitz has established himself as one of the most recognisable figures in rock music. His career has also extended into acting and design, while his distinctive fashion choices have become an important part of his public image.

His acting credits include appearances in major film and television productions, while his work in fashion has further strengthened his reputation as a creative figure beyond music.

The new doll reflects that wider identity, with Mattel specifically drawing inspiration from Kravitz’s recent touring style rather than creating a traditional Ken look. The company said the collectible is intended to capture his “boundary-breaking spirit” and distinctive aesthetic.

The release comes as Kravitz continues his “Blue Electric Light” touring era, giving collectors and fans another opportunity to celebrate the musician’s decades-long career.

Mattel’s collectible also comes with a doll stand and Certificate of Authenticity and is intended for collectors and children aged six and above.

The Barbie Signature Kenbassadors Lenny Kravitz Collectible Doll is priced at $70 on Mattel’s US website, although prices vary across international markets.

With Ken celebrating 65 years, Kravitz’s addition to the collection marks another step in Barbie’s effort to connect the iconic character with influential figures from contemporary culture.
