Nigerian Striker Pushes for Fiorentina Move
Wolves striker Tolu Arokodare has reportedly caused a training session to be cancelled after refusing to leave the pitch amid a dispute over his future at the club.
The 25-year-old Nigeria international allegedly sat down during training and demanded that Wolves allow him to complete a move to Italian Serie A side Fiorentina.
According to reports, Wolves rejected a bid from Fiorentina after already accepting an offer from Turkish club Trabzonspor. The disagreement led to new head coach Cesar Peixoto ending Monday’s training session early.
Arokodare was later left out of Wolves’ pre-season friendly against Maidenhead United as the club continued preparations for the upcoming campaign.
Arokodare Responds to Situation
Following reports about the incident, Arokodare addressed the matter on social media, insisting that he remains committed to acting professionally and fulfilling his responsibilities at Wolves.
The striker said throughout his career he has maintained high training standards and remains focused on supporting his teammates and the club.
Arokodare also confirmed that he is still under contract with Wolves and said his intention is to continue training and contributing to the team while respecting his agreement with the club.
The statement comes as speculation continues over whether the forward will leave Molineux during the current transfer window.
Another Challenge at Molineux
The latest controversy adds to previous tensions surrounding Arokodare’s time at Wolves.
The Nigerian forward was disciplined in April following a confrontation with young striker Mateus Mane, creating another difficult moment for the player during his first season at the club.
