The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has confirmed the death of Ransford Amankwah Asomani, a Level 200 BSc Agribusiness Management student, after a tragic fall from the second floor of an off‑campus hostel at Ayeduase in the early hours of Sunday, 8 February 2026.
According to preliminary reports, the student fell from the building and was immediately rushed to the KNUST Hospital by colleagues with support from the KNUST District Police Patrol Team. He was pronounced dead on arrival, despite efforts to save him.
University authorities have confirmed that the student’s parents have been notified, and his body has been deposited at the KNUST Hospital Mortuary pending an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
