Fiifi Coleman Productions is scheduled to present I Told You So at the National Theatre from March 5 to 8, 2026, with six performances scheduled. The play is part of activities to commemorate the 70th Independence Anniversary of Ghana.
Fiifi Coleman, the director of the play, said that I Told You So is a culturally important story that explores the issues of family, greed, and community values. He said that the story has its roots in the concert party tradition, courtesy of the legendary Bob Cole, before being adapted into a film.
Fiifi Coleman was very excited about the cast, which includes Gyedu Blay Ambolley, Fred Amugi, Clement Bonney (Mr Beautiful), Deaconess Abokoma, and Araba Dansowa. According to him, the stage play captures the true essence of the classic but delivers it in a manner that appeals to the modern-day audience.
He further emphasized the importance of preserving Ghanaian culture, since values such as discipline, reverence for elders, and social behavior are gradually being lost. He hopes that through the play, he will be able to stir up interest in these core values and help Ghanaians reconnect with their heritage.
