Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have accepted an invitation to stay at a royal residence during their upcoming visit to the UK with their children, marking their first family trip to Britain in four years.
The couple will travel with their son, Archie, 7, and daughter, Lilibet, 5, and will stay as guests of King Charles on a royal estate. While the specific residence has not been disclosed, the family is also expected to spend part of their visit in private accommodation.
Prince Harry’s visit coincides with the start of the year-long countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games, which will be held in Birmingham next July. During his time in Britain, he is also expected to support several UK charities he has remained involved with since stepping back from royal duties and relocating to California.
On previous visits, Harry declined invitations to stay at Buckingham Palace, citing concerns over the visibility of the royal residence and security arrangements.
Last year, the Duke lost a legal challenge seeking the restoration of automatic police protection while visiting the UK. Following the ruling, he said he wished to reconcile with the Royal Family but remained concerned about bringing his wife and children to Britain due to security concerns.
“I can’t see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the UK at this point,” Harry said after the court decision.
The security arrangements for next month’s visit have not been made public. It is understood that Buckingham Palace has not offered any additional security, with any further protection remaining a matter for the Home Office.
The upcoming trip could also provide an opportunity for King Charles to spend time with his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet, whom he last saw in person during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
Prince Harry last met privately with his father in September 2025 at Clarence House, their first face-to-face meeting since February 2024.
Neither Buckingham Palace nor representatives for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have commented on whether a family reunion will take place, describing it as a private matter.
