Harry and Meghan Receive Warm Welcome in Nottingham
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been welcomed by cheering fans during their first joint public engagement in Nottingham since returning to the UK. The couple visited local charities and community projects, drawing crowds eager to meet them.
Couple Visit Community Recording Studio
Their first stop was the Community Recording Studio, a charity with which Harry has a longstanding connection. Supporters gathered to greet the couple, shouting expressions of affection as they arrived.
Meghan Reunites With Cookbook Contributors
Harry and Meghan later visited Himmah, a charity working to tackle food poverty, where they took part in a cooking class. Meghan also reunited with women she worked with on a cookbook project in 2018, warmly referring to them as her “ladies”.
Fans Share Their Excitement
Emily Davis, 21, presented Meghan with a bunch of yellow flowers and said she had always wanted to meet her. Amanda Geary, 54, also expressed her admiration for Harry, saying she had been a fan since he was born.
Other supporters described the couple as lovely and welcomed their visit, with cheers and shouts of “I love you” accompanying their appearances around the city.
Return to a City With Personal Significance
Nottingham holds a special place in the couple’s history. It was the city where they made their first joint public appearance after announcing their engagement in 2017.
Although the visit resembles a traditional royal engagement, Harry and Meghan are no longer working royals. They are visiting as public figures and supporters of individual charitable projects.
