Jonasi joins Trevor Noah’s comedy team for South Africa festival tour
Zimbabwean breakout comedy star Learnmore Jonasi is set to join South Africa’s Festival of Comedy lineup after being announced as part of Trevor Noah’s comedy team for a national tour taking place later this year.
The tour will run across Pretoria, Cape Town, and Durban in September and will feature a mix of established and rising comedic talent from across the region. Jonasi has built international recognition in recent years, including a standout run on America’s Got Talent, where he reached the top five and received a Golden Buzzer. He has also won major comedy festivals such as the 2023 Boston Comedy Festival and earned audience choice recognition at the Jersey City Comedy Festival.

Earlier this year, Jonasi made headlines after a controversy involving a joke about The Lion King, which sparked a public response from Lebo M during one of his shows.
