Justin Bieber and Burna Boy Join Star-Studded FIFA World Cup 2026 Halftime Show
The 2026 FIFA World Cup final is set to make history with its first-ever Super Bowl-style halftime show, and the star power just got even bigger.
Canadian pop sensation Justin Bieber and Nigerian superstar Burna Boy have officially joined an already impressive line-up featuring Madonna, Shakira and K-pop group BTS.
The historic 11-minute performance will take place during the FIFA World Cup final on Sunday, 19 July, at New York New Jersey Stadium.
Bieber Excited to Be Part of Historic Event
Bieber said participating in the event goes beyond performing on one of football’s biggest stages.
“The FIFA World Cup brings the world together in a way nothing else can,” he said.
“I’m grateful to be part of this halftime show and even more grateful knowing it’s already helping expand access to education for children around the world.”
The performance is being organised in support of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative aimed at raising $100 million to improve access to education and football opportunities for children worldwide.
Burna Boy Proud to Represent Africa
Burna Boy, who recently collaborated with Shakira on their global hit Dai Dai, described his participation as both an honour and a responsibility.
“The FIFA World Cup is one of the few moments that truly brings the entire world together,” he said.
“To represent Africa on the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show is a privilege and a responsibility that I don’t take lightly.”
The Grammy-winning artist added that he was proud to be part of an event celebrating football, culture and education.
FIFA Focuses on Education and Unity
Gianni Infantino said bringing together artists from different parts of the world reflects the tournament’s broader mission of creating a positive impact beyond football.
“When it comes to what the world needs, there is nothing more important than education,” Infantino said.
He added that the event would deliver a powerful message of unity and hope to billions of viewers around the globe.
Additional performers include Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel and the PS22 Chorus featuring Coldplay.
Characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets will also make appearances during the show.
More Than $50 Million Already Raised
The FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund aims to raise $100 million, with more than $50 million already secured.
FIFA has confirmed that $1 from every match ticket sold during the tournament is being donated to the initiative.
The halftime show is being produced by Global Citizen in partnership with Live Nation and Done + Dusted, with Chris Martin serving as curator.
With football and music set to collide on one of the world’s biggest stages, the 2026 FIFA World Cup final promises to deliver an unforgettable celebration of sport, culture and global unity.
