Ronaldinho

Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho has strongly criticized Carlo Ancelotti for leaving Neymar out of the national team squad for upcoming friendlies.

Speaking in a recent podcast, Ronaldinho did not hold back, insisting that even at 34, Neymar remains one of Brazil’s best players. “Neymar, even playing on one leg, is better than most Brazilian footballers,” he said, adding that the team has lost some of its excitement without the star winger.

The omission has sparked growing debate ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which could be Neymar’s final appearance on the global stage. Ronaldinho stressed that Neymar “must be included” if Brazil hopes to compete at the highest level.

Meanwhile, Neymar himself recently admitted he felt “upset and saddened” after being excluded from the squad for matches against France and Croatia. His absence has intensified questions about his role in the future of the national team.

As the World Cup approaches, the pressure is mounting on Ancelotti to make key decisions, with fans and legends alike divided over whether Neymar still deserves a place in Brazil’s squad.
