Pearl Thusi, Lungile Radu to Host Travel Show

South African broadcasters Pearl Thusi and Lungile Radu will host Just Travel SA, a nine-part domestic tourism series premiering on SABC1 on October 26, 2026, at 6pm.

Produced by Black Brain Pictures, the series aims to encourage South Africans to explore destinations, cultural experiences and hidden gems across all nine provinces, with travel options catering to different budgets.

Thusi said the experience changed her perspective on local travel, highlighting the variety of experiences available in South Africa and their affordability.

Radu said the programme also showcases the value of connecting with local communities and learning about destinations through the people who live there.

Three Travel Budgets Featured

Each 24-minute episode follows the hosts as they explore a province alongside a local insider. The programme features three spending categories: Smart Budget, costing up to R1,050 per day; Flexi Budget, up to R1,250; and Luxury Budget, above R1,250 per day.

Featured destinations include the Free State with Mapaseka Koetle, Limpopo with Clement Maosa and KwaZulu-Natal with Sweet Guluva.

Industry Partners Back Domestic Tourism

The series is supported by the Tourism Business Council of South Africa and Tourism Marketing South Africa through TOMSA.

TBCSA chief executive Tshifhiwa Tshivhengwa said domestic travellers play a central role in the tourism industry, adding that local travel supports businesses, communities and jobs.

Acting SABC1 channel head Thulisile Nhlapo said the programme would encourage viewers to discover the country’s culture, destinations and experiences through accessible travel inspiration.
