Pope Leo XIV is set to begin a landmark tour across Africa, combining prayer, diplomacy, and calls for peace, justice, and equality.

The Catholic leader will visit Algeria, Cameroon, Angola, and Equatorial Guinea, delivering multiple masses and speeches. His journey begins in Algiers, where he will meet President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and hold a historic mass.

In Cameroon, the pope will meet long-serving leader Paul Biya and visit Bamenda, a region affected by ongoing conflict, where he is expected to call for peace.

His visit to Angola will highlight issues like corruption, inequality, and resource struggles, while the final leg in Equatorial Guinea will include visits to key cities and a memorial honoring victims of a 2021 explosion.

The tour reflects the Vatican’s growing focus on Africa, emphasizing peacebuilding, interfaith dialogue, and social justice.
