Ghanaian international and former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey is facing two further counts of rape, following new authorisation from the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS). The development intensifies an already complex legal case involving multiple allegations spanning several years.
New Charges Linked to Separate 2020 Allegations
According to UK prosecutors, the latest charges stem from a separate report of non‑recent offences said to have occurred in 2020 and involving an additional woman. The allegations were first reported in August 2025 and followed a fresh Metropolitan Police investigation.
Partey, 32, is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 13 March for a first hearing on the new counts.
Existing Charges Already Set for Trial
Before these new developments, Partey had already pleaded not guilty to five counts of rape and one charge of sexual assault involving three women. Those alleged offences are said to have taken place between 2021 and 2022, during his time as a regular first‑team player at Arsenal.
He entered his pleas during an appearance at Southwark Crown Court in September 2025 and is due to stand trial later this year under a High Court judge. The trial is currently scheduled for 2 November.
Career Movements and Bail Conditions
Partey left Arsenal in June 2025 after his contract expired and subsequently joined Spanish side Villarreal. His bail conditions allow him to continue playing professionally, though he must notify police of any international travel at least 24 hours in advance and is prohibited from contacting the complainants.
Legal Process Continues
The CPS emphasises that the case remains active, and the defendant is expected to respond to all charges through the formal judicial process. Partey denies the allegations.
As proceedings move forward, further details are expected to emerge through the courts. Omega TV UK will continue to follow the case closely and provide updates as new information becomes available.
