Golf legend Tiger Woods has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a car crash near his home in Jupiter Island.
According to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred when Woods attempted to overtake a work truck towing a trailer at high speed. His Land Rover clipped the vehicle and rolled onto its side on a two-lane road.
Woods managed to crawl out of the vehicle before authorities arrived. While a breathalyzer test showed no alcohol in his system, investigators believe his impairment may have been linked to drugs or medication. He also refused to take a urine test, which is considered a separate offence under Florida law.
No injuries were reported in the crash. Woods was later released after meeting legal requirements.
The 15-time major champion has a long history of injuries, including multiple back surgeries and a serious crash in 2021 that left him with severe leg fractures. Despite these setbacks, he recently returned to competitive golf and had been expected to participate in upcoming tournaments, including The Masters.
Woods remains one of the greatest golfers in history, with 15 major titles and 82 PGA Tour wins, tying the all-time record.
