TikTok Star Sinemivuyo Mpulu Joins Top Billing in Major Lifestyle TV Comeback
South Africa’s iconic lifestyle television show Top Billing is officially back, marking a new era that blends classic television glamour with digital-age influence.
The show returns on S3 on April 30 at 7pm, reimagined for a new generation while still celebrating the legacy that made it one of the country’s most recognisable entertainment brands.
Among the new faces joining the revamped lineup is TikTok star and creative professional Sinemivuyo Mpulu, whose rise from social media content creation to mainstream television marks a major career milestone.
Mpulu described the opportunity as a deeply affirming moment for his creative journey, calling it “a humbling honour” and a powerful form of validation for digital-era storytellers.
He said the new Top Billing represents a bridge between generations, combining established South African television personalities with younger digital creators to reflect a changing media landscape.
The refreshed lineup includes returning icons such as Dr Michael Mol and Basetsana Kumalo, alongside personalities like Jonathan Boynton-Lee and Dr Fez Mkhize. Former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi also joins the production, with Mpulu praising her on-screen presence and professionalism.
According to Mpulu, the atmosphere on set reflects unity and high standards, with both veteran and new presenters working collaboratively to deliver a polished final product.
“Even Mam’Basetsana Kumalo is still going over her lines, practising and rehearsing,” he noted, highlighting the level of preparation behind the scenes.
The new season also aims to redefine luxury in a more inclusive South African context, showcasing everything from high-end lifestyles to township culture.
Mpulu said the goal is to present a broader and more relatable definition of aspiration, where luxury is not limited to one social class but reflects the diversity of the country.
Beyond television, Mpulu continues to build his profile in the creative industry, working on initiatives such as the South African VoiceOver Awards and preparing to host a masterclass celebrating his decade in voiceover work.
The return of Top Billing signals a reinvention of South African lifestyle television, positioning itself at the intersection of tradition, digital culture, and modern storytelling.
