Kelce opens up about wedding
American football star Travis Kelce has described his recent wedding to pop superstar Taylor Swift as “the best night of my life,” offering a rare glimpse into the highly private celebrations.
The Kansas City Chiefs player spoke about the wedding during a briefing, thanking those who attended and celebrated with the couple.
“I appreciate everybody who came out and celebrated and, you know, had fun with us,” Kelce said, adding that the night was filled with celebration and unforgettable moments.
Childhood dream comes true
Kelce, 36, said he was particularly pleased to have been married at Madison Square Garden in New York, a venue he described as one of the most iconic sporting locations in the world.
He said being able to marry at the famous venue allowed him to fulfil a childhood dream while marking an important moment in his life with Swift.
The couple reportedly held two days of wedding celebrations at the venue on July 2 and 3.
Wedding details remain private
Despite the scale of the event, many details surrounding the wedding remain closely guarded.
No official photographs from the ceremony have been released, and the marriage was only publicly confirmed through a statement from Swift’s spokeswoman and a message displayed on screens at Madison Square Garden.
Among the details that have emerged is that comedian and actor Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony.
Kelce and Swift were reportedly dressed by designer Jonathan Anderson for Christian Dior, while Swift wore shoes by luxury footwear designer Christian Louboutin.
Thousands attend celebrations
Around 1,000 guests reportedly attended the celebrations, including numerous celebrities.
The size of the gathering resulted in nearby streets being closed and a significant police presence around the venue.
New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani later revealed that the newlyweds paid the city $160,000 to cover costs associated with the event.
Journalist George Stephanopoulos described the wedding as deeply personal and intimate despite the enormous size of the venue.
Couple’s relationship
Kelce and Swift made their relationship public in 2024 after months of intense public interest surrounding their romance.
The couple became one of the world’s most closely followed celebrity pairs, with Swift frequently attending Kelce’s NFL games and Kelce supporting her music career.
They announced their engagement in August 2025 before eventually marrying in New York.
