Two Killed, Five Injured in Shooting at Seattle Food Festival

Two people were killed and five others injured, including a two-year-old child, after a shooting at the Seattle Center during a major food festival near Seattle’s iconic Space Needle.

The shooting occurred at around 6:00 p.m. local time, sending festivalgoers running for safety as multiple gunshots rang out across the crowded venue.

Seattle fire officials confirmed that two people died in the attack, while five others were wounded. Emergency responders treated victims at the scene before transporting them to nearby hospitals.

Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson said one suspect has been taken into custody. Authorities have not yet released details about the motive, and investigations are ongoing.

Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, with one attendee telling local media it was “pure chaos” as people fled in all directions after hearing repeated gunshots.

A hospital treating some of the injured confirmed it had been placed under partial lockdown as a precaution following the incident.

Washington’s governor offered condolences to the families of the victims, while a Seattle congresswoman condemned the attack as “senseless violence” and called for support for those affected.

Police continue to investigate the shooting as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack.
