Created by Loft Arts, this 13-minute film portrays the work of conservationists who save seals from fishing lines, plastic waste and other ocean debris along the Namibian coast. The documentary will be released on 8th June plus World Ocean Day.

Evoking the viewers’ emotions, the film shows the rescue operations as the teams bear down on the beaches to save the terrified seals from plastic entanglements. Shifting from animal rescue, the documentary underlines the human role in the environment and the increasing damage by pollution.

Naude Dreyer, one of the founders of Ocean Conservation Namibia, is a major figure in the documentary, discussing his strong bond with the ocean and the need of marine ecosystem protection.

As per the conservation organization, 876 seals were rescued in 2023, and 791 were saved in 2024.

Instead of a detailed focus on statistics, the documentary moves to the human side of wildlife rescue and the interaction between rescuers and communities about wildlife conservation.

Besides the rescue stories, supporting the environment through children is the other focus of this documentary. It shines a spotlight on outreach programmes involving kids in loving and protecting nature.

Featuring breathtaking images of the Namibian coast, Unseen Line communicates a powerful and engaging message on conservation, accountability and a bright future.
