A 35-year-old woman has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including attempted murder, following a shooting incident at the Los Angeles home of global music star Rihanna.
The suspect, Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, is accused of firing numerous shots at the property on March 8 while Rihanna, her partner A$AP Rocky, and their family were present. Authorities say the couple were inside a trailer on the property at the time, while other family members and staff were in the main residence.
Prosecutors allege that around 20 gunshots were fired into the home, which is located in the Beverly Crest area of Los Angeles. Despite the scale of the attack, no injuries were reported.
Ortiz faces a series of serious charges, including one count of attempted murder, multiple counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm, and additional charges related to shooting at an occupied property. She has denied all allegations through her legal representative during proceedings at Los Angeles Superior Court.
According to prosecutors, the suspect was arrested shortly after the incident and was found with a firearm, ammunition, and a disguise. Officials described the shooting as a deliberate act that could have resulted in significant loss of life.
Ortiz remains in custody on bail set at $1.8 million and could face life imprisonment if convicted on all counts. The case will proceed to its next stage, where a court will determine whether there is sufficient evidence for a full trial.
Rihanna, a multi-award-winning artist and entrepreneur, has not publicly commented on the incident.
