American singer Chappell Roan has addressed allegations made by Brazilian footballer Jorginho Frello regarding an incident involving his family.
The controversy began after Jorginho accused a security guard linked to Roan of treating his wife, Cathrine Harding, and their daughter aggressively during an encounter at a hotel in São Paulo.
Responding on social media, Roan denied any involvement, stating she neither witnessed the interaction nor instructed any security personnel to approach the family.
“I didn’t even see a woman and a child. No one came up to me,” she said, adding that the individual involved was not part of her personal security team.
Jorginho, however, claimed that his daughter, Ada Law, was left upset after being spoken to harshly despite simply smiling at the singer while passing by.
Roan expressed regret over the situation, apologising to the family and stating they did not deserve such treatment. She also rejected claims that she disrespects her fans, insisting she values their support.
Despite the apology, the singer has faced backlash online, with critics accusing her of a pattern of dismissive behaviour toward fans. Social media users have called on her to show greater respect, especially toward younger supporters.
The incident has sparked wider debate about celebrity interactions with fans and the role of security teams in public settings.
