Wizkid, Burna Boy, Asake, and Tems have all been nominated for 2026 BET Awards. The awards show will take place on June 28, 2026, in Los Angeles, California, and will be hosted by the comedian Druski and broadcast live on BET.
The nominations for the annual awards were released on Tuesday and recognized several Nigerian artists across different music genres. Asake and Wizkid’s collaborative project and multiple No. 1 songs together resulted in a joint nomination in the Best Group category.
Compared to other African artists, Tems is one of the most decorated with three nominations for 2026 BET Awards. She received nominations for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, the BET Her Award for her song “First,” and Viewers’ Choice Award for “Waves,” her collaboration with Dave.
Burna Boy is also nominated in the Best Collaboration category for his guest appearance on Gunna’s hit song “WGFT.”
